Keith Allen Miles

As you have requested, the following is the story of Keith Allen Miles (Keith) who is now serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole for the murder of a 2-year-old little girl named Savannah.  Savannah was the daughter of Keith’s girlfriend, Sadie.  Savannah also had a 3-year-old brother, Austin.

On the day in question, Keith, Sadie and the children were visiting the home of Benny Jones.  Sadie had to go to the store and left the children with Keith at Benny’s home.  The children were playing in the backyard where Benny had a little goat.  The children were playing with the goat and chasing it.  They cornered and the goat got scared and rammed Savannah in the chest.  Keith wasn’t outside with them and Austin ran into the house and got Keith.  There were three little marks on her chest indicating that the goat’s horns had indeed hit her on the chest.  Savannah was crying and hurt by the goat, so Keith took her into the house, removed her dirty clothes and put her down for a nap not realizing how badly she was insured.

After Sadie returned home, Keith told her what had happened and that after Savannahs nap, she didn’t appear to be well.  An ambulance was called and Savannah was taken to the hospital.  She died later that day from her injuries.

Keith was taken in for questioning without an attorney because the detectives told him he didn’t need one because they just wanted to talk to him.  They kept him up for thirty-six (36) hours by calling him so he couldn’t sleep and then arresting him around 5 a.m. the next morning and booking him around 6 p.m.  They had taken his clothes and left him in his underclothes for the entire time of the questioning.  They never fed him or allowed him to smoke.  They then read him his rights and arrested him for Savannah’s death.  What was thought to be an accident had now been turned into a murder.  The District Attorney had decided that Keith had molested and killed Savannah.

Keith was given a court appointed attorney, Scott Seeley, who was not qualified for a high profile case and had never handled a murder case.  During the trial it was evident that the District Attorney had control and that whatever evidence that Mr. Seeley wanted to present, was over ruled by the judge, Judge Stephen Ashworth.

Several issued occurred that we could not understand.  I have listed those concerns below:

1.        The only DNA found was that of Benny Jones.

2.        The Judge denied evidence that Mr. Seeley wanted to give the Jury.

3.        Three doctors, of which was a Dr. Posey, testified that Keith couldn’t have hurt Savannah with the damage that was done by the goat.

4.        Sadie’s mother had washed Savannah’s clothes before they could be tested.

5.       There were three little marks on Savannah’s chest that showed where the goat had hit her with his horns.   Mr. Jones and his mother had  the goat killed before it could be tested because they didn’t was to be held responsible.

6.       The investigators were never called to testify even though they had reached the conclusion that Keith did not hurt Savannah.

7.       During the last few months, Mr. Jones has admitted that he lied during his testimony.  He had stated in court that when Keith had put Savannah down for a nap, Keith had closed the door and was in the bedroom alone with Savannah.  That was a lie and we don’t know how much more of his testimony is untrue.  He has also admitted that he doesn’t like Keith and wouldn’t do anything to help him.  Mr. Jones is an alcoholic and a drug user.

8.       The Deputy District Attorney and the arresting Detective were dating at the time.

9.       The Judge has been accused of statutory rape of an underage girl (see newspaper article)

10.     It has been mentioned that Savannah’s family members had tampered with the jury.  The jury sat outside the courtroom with the public and anyone had access to him or her.  Some of the jury has come forward with that claim.

11.     A goat breeder testified that goats NEVER ram like Austin said happened to Savannah.  Other witnesses said it did happen.

12.     At the end of the trial, the District Attorney was overhead saying that it didn’t matter if he was guilty or innocent; he probably deserved this for something else that he did.

13.     There is no arrest report on file for this case.

14.     The family carried angels during the trial inside the courtroom, and also had their car windows painted with “Justice for Savannah”.

We hope you will agree that Keith had a lot of issues against him.  We do not feel that he was given a fair chance.  This case was one sided and was won before it had even gone to trail.  To go from an accident with a goat to murder was a far stretch.

We need your help.  Keith does not deserve to be in prison for life without the possibility of parole.  He didn’t kill Savannah, he loved her.
